My Roommate: The Sociopath

The Sociopath I am now dealing with is a female and my roommate and at one point in time - was also my friend, although it feels like the backlash she is giving me would otherwise suggest on her part.

Apparently she is a closet case one. She used to work for St Vincent de Paul as part of the security force and was one of two of the head captains there, which obviously went to her head. Apparently she is used to getting her way, and having people bend over backwards to literally kiss her butt. She went from one girlfriend to the next (she’s a dyke/he-she), making them clean and cook for her. This dyke is like 5 feet 11 inches and over 280-350 lbs. and 45 yrs old. And I am only 26 years old and 5 feet 2 inches and 140 lbs. and also female.

She has been using me since the day I moved in, she owes me over a thousand dollars she has yet to pay me back. Back in Dec 2009 my roommate manipulated me and conned me into loaning her her some money to cover her rent portion so she could use her money to get her car back from the people working on it. For five months I kept at her, asking when she intended to give me back the money. And for those five months she would either just nod or change the subject or make up some excuse or just out right ignore me till I went back into my room. Then just as we were being foreclosed on the house we rented cause the landlord was pocketing our money instead of paying off the house, she turns on me and says she doesn’t owe me anything cause she saved my butt, by going down to the court office and appealing it - BUT she wasn’t saving my butt - she was saving her own…and she found an “opportunity” or at least in her head it was one to use so that she could claim she didn’t owe me and appear ‘generous’ since she ‘let’ me stay there for two months without collecting rent - even though she wasn’t the landlord and she had no say as to whether I could stay there or not since the house was being foreclosed anyways.

Then she doesn’t pay for 3 months of cable and internet and phone. Yet to hear her talk - you would think she ‘told’ me two months before that - that she already had cable and didn’t need my HD box. Yet if that were the truth, she would have given me that box or left it on the table for me to collect two months ago not kept it in her room hooked up to her TV. And now she claims I owe her money for the electricity bill and threatened to turn off the electricity if I didn’t pay up. I didn’t pay up and handed her my own “Bill” which she promptly threw it away. Bad thing is it was all verbal and not written..she isn’t getting a penny from me now.

Now that I have finally cut her off - she is STILL trying to weasel money out of me and doesn’t waste an opportunity to harass me. It’s gotten so bad now, that I now sleep during the day and stay up during the night, just so I can take a shower, get food and go to the bathroom in peace. Without her jumping out and getting in my face, yelling insults and threatening me. Some days I don’t even eat because she won’t leave the house and I fear that if I take too long in the kitchen and if she’s not asleep yet that she will rush out and get in my face. I now buy foods that don’t have to be refrigerated just so that I don’t have to step out of my room to eat, granted its all junk food. One time I was coming out of the shower with nothing but a towel wrapped around me and she jumps out from nowhere and throws her big fat foot in my door so I can’t shut my door and sticks her face in mine, using her height and weight to make feel powerless. She throws herself around and puffs herself out so she can seem that more threatening.

I should have listened to her ex-girlfriend - she even told me that it was pointless to argue with my roommate. I just didn’t know that she meant that my roommate was a sociopath and therefore nothing was her fault and that everyone owes her and is out to use her and take advantage of her. She even goes so far as to bring her friends over and then talks about me - so that I can hear, telling them lies about me to her friends, who were once friendly towards me - although they too are money-hungry greedy dykes. She takes anything that has truth and twists and misconstrues things to make me out to be the bad person to her friends, saying threats and how she hopes I become homeless because no would want me as a roommate esp since I have cats and that she cant stand me any more and doesn’t want to put
up with me any more and how she hopes I move ‘to become someone else’s problem’ so I can take advantage of the next person/roommate. And how SHE has to do all the cleaning around the house and how lazy I am and that I don’t do anything around the house, ect.

Her ex-girlfriend got her fired a couple of months ago and so now she is on unemployment. I just got out of the military a few months ago. I plan to move ASAP but I am finding it difficult to find a place, preferably a cheaper place with NO ROOMMATES. I am thinking of applying for safe home in case she tries to retaliate or talk to my future roommate’s/landlords and tell them her lies and poison them against me. Apparently she has already looked up and contacted one of my relatives and talked to them about me, or perhaps she just said that so I’d get worried and feel isolated or something…

“T uses her age (45, 5 feet 11 inches and prob +300 lbs.), the fact that she was a Captain of a security force for the homeless under St Vincent DE Paul, as if she was a real cop. She openly brags about her strength and ability to take down anyone. (Fear tactic - to get you scared.) She will find your weakness and exploit it - if she does even ONE good thing for you - she will use it against you over and over to try and get you to do what she wants (Manipulation 101). She will make you feel at ease and then get you when you least expect it. She will introduce you to her friends and make you feel like one of them, and the second you stop doing what she wants…cleaning the house, cooking so she doesn’t have to do it, yard work…loaning her money (SHE WON’T PAY YOU BACK!!!) She will turn on you so fast, you wont know what hit you! She will turn her friends against you - bad mouthing you to them. Cause remember that one nice thing she did for you? (That will be her last and final nice act towards you). Yeah, in her twisted demented mind, she thinks everyone owes her, everyone is out to use her, take advantage of her. When in reality, SHE is the culprit. She can be your best friend or your worst enemy. She will let you hear her bashing your good name to her friends so that her friends will turn on you.

Beware if you become her next roommate: MOVE OUT NOW!!! She makes herself the “Master Tenant” when she rents a house from the landlord…that means to her she is God and her word is Gold and final. If you stop doing what she wants or don’t do it - she will threaten to kick you out as if SHE is the landlord. She lies about everything and twists everything to make you into the bad person and she blames everyone but herself for her financial woes. She even yells at her 65 yr old mother for not lending her money! She will stalk you if she finds out where you moved to and may likely help herself to your house and your things - she knows how to ‘break’ into ppls homes without damaging or disturbing the property.

She’s been doing this for a long time and she’s only gotten better. You can tell she lies to herself and everyone else, she can’t remember what she told you - not to mention her story always seems to change with the wind. When you confront her on it she only takes a split second for the shock to wear off then she dismisses it altogether with a wave of her hand and she avoids eye contact while she tries to think up more lies as lies are already spilling out of her mouth, the wheels turning in her head. It’s most evident when speaking of money.

The second she threatens you: MOVE THE F OUT ASAP!”
